Project
Dumpster for concrete, dirt and brick
A torn-out patio or a pile of fill dirt weighs far more than it looks. Small containers and honest descriptions keep this job inside the allowance.

Many companies price a load of only concrete or only dirt differently from mixed debris. Keep trash, wood and rebar-heavy pieces out unless the company says otherwise.
Break slabs into pieces you can lift. At the Scott Area Landfill, concrete chunks four feet square or larger count as hard-to-manage items.

| City | Bricks and concrete |
|---|---|
| Davenport | Not collected curbside; construction waste outside the cart stays put |
| Moline | Bulky item pickup excludes bricks and concrete |
| Rock Island | Special pickups send bricks, block, masonry and railroad ties to Millennium Waste |
Sod, dirt and rocks aren't accepted at the Davenport Compost Facility either, so they belong in this kind of container, not a yard waste one.
Will a full container crack my driveway?
Weight concentrates on the rails. Boards under them help; an older or thin slab may be better left alone in favor of the street, with a permit.
Can I mix in a few bags of trash?
Ask first. It can change how the whole load is priced.
Got a pile and a date in mind?
One call reaches an independent dumpster rental company working the Davenport area. A rough idea of what's going in, and where the container can sit, is all you need to start.
