Where to put the dumpster
Choose the spot before you call. The company will ask where it goes, and a measured answer avoids a container that can't be set down on the day.

- Length and width of the container, plus a few feet around it to walk and load.
- A straight path for the truck to back in, and room behind for the bed to tilt.
- Clear sky above: no power or cable lines, and branches trimmed back.
- Gates, mailboxes and parked cars out of the way on drop-off and pickup day.
Protect the driveway
Steel rails and rollers can scuff or crack a surface under load. Boards under the rails spread the weight. Ask whether the company brings them or you should lay plywood first.
Keep the container off fresh concrete or new asphalt, and away from the edges where slabs tend to break.
Hills and grades
A steep driveway changes the plan. A loaded container on a grade is harder to winch back up, so ask whether the bottom of the drive or a flatter pad nearby works better.
Subdivision covenants sometimes limit how long a container can stay or require it out of sight. Read them, or ask the HOA, before booking.
Renters should get the landlord's okay in writing. Landlords clearing a unit between tenants may want the container near the alley or the back door rather than the front lawn.
A short note to the neighbors about the dates goes a long way when the truck needs their side of the street to turn.
For anything in the street or on the sidewalk, read the Davenport permit guide first.

Got a pile and a date in mind?
One call reaches an independent dumpster rental company working the Davenport area. A rough idea of what's going in, and where the container can sit, is all you need to start.
Rent a roll-off
Have your street, the project and the week you want it ready. The rental company quotes size, drop-off date and price.
